Despatch Box ‘Touch’ Manual

Welcome

Thank-you for purchasing a Despatch Box ‘Touch’ from In:Quality.

Plugging It In

  • Connect an ethernet cable from the Despatch Box to a LAN port on your internet router.
  • Connect your USB microphone or audio interface to the Despatch Box, using any of the USB ports.  You should generally connect your headphones to the microphone or audio interface, not the Despatch Box.
  • Plug in the supplied power adaptor to the mains, and connect the other end to the micro-USB power input on the Despatch Box. You should now see the boot sequence on the touchscreen.

Is it pre-configured?

When you made your order, we would have asked how you would like the device to be pre-configured.  If you declined this service, you’ll need to configure the unit before you can use it.

If it’s already configured – and it registers successfully – you should now see a phone handset icon on the screen, and you can begin making and receiving calls.  We offer a free first-time test service, which you can request by raising a support ticket.

The touchscreen displays call status, any configured quick dial shortcut buttons, the device’s IP address, and your SIP address. Touching the green status box will activate the virtual keyboard for manual dialling.

Receiving a Call

Your Despatch Box is registered with a sip.audio account.  Your SIP address will be something like your.name@sip.audio

Ask the radio producer to call your SIP address. At the agreed time, wear the headphones and check that the microphone is switched on.

Connecting a Monitor (optional)

In addition to the integral touchscreen, there is the option to connect a screen to the Despatch Box using an HDMI cable.

You can also control the unit and edit the configuration by adding a keyboard and mouse.

Connecting a Keyboard and Mouse (optional)

Additional control of the Despatch Box with an external screen can be achieved by connecting a keyboard and mouse.  Simply plug them into the device’s spare USB ports.

Remote Control from a Computer

You can control the Despatch Box and edit the configuration from any computer on the same network. You’ll find the IP address at the bottom of the touchscreen.

Your network may also be configured to allow access at http://inqodec

Open a web browser and enter the IP address e.g. 192.168.1.XX

The default password for the GUI (Graphical User Interface) is inqodec.  You may like to change this.

Making a SIP Call

If quick dial buttons have already been configured, simply press the appropriate button on the touchscreen, and the saved destination will be dialled.

To dial a manual address, touch the green status box in order to activate the keyboard. Enter the SIP address or number you wish to dial.  Phone numbers must start with a + and the country code (Tel subscription required). Enter to dial.

You may also dial manual addresses using the web interface via a computer, or an attached keyboard, mouse and display.

Click the large red status box to end the connection.
