Description
This audio industry workhorse, seen at sports stadiums and remote broadcasts around the world has been re-imagined for the IP age, and is ready to make and receive SIP calls via the integrated touchscreen.
Affectionately known by many as the COOBE (Contributor Operated Outside Broadcast Equipment), it’s perfect for sports commentary, outside broadcasts and radio days. Just connect analogue headsets (optional extra) or XLR mic and headphones (not included).
The SIP Audio Mixer connects to an existing internet connection, and allows you to call to/from radio stations in full studio quality, thanks to its use of the Opus codec. It can be shipped pre-configured with your own unique sip.audio address(es), and quick-dial buttons for your regular destinations.
Use the rotary controls to adjust microphone and monitoring levels, and the iconic red buttons to switch microphones on or off.
The back of the unit is equipped with a Power for All mounting bracket, for optional seamless battery backup.

FAQs
Which radio stations can I connect with?
---
Any station with a Comrex IP codec or similar, can receive SIP calls, once the unit has been configured with a SIP account. Find SIP enabled radio stations on our SIP Studio Map. An easy way for radio stations to call SIP codecs is to dial the SIP address from the dial pad in ipDTL.
Can I control the device without using the touchscreen?
---
Yes. You can access it through its IP address from a nearby computer.
Can I connect the XLR SIP Codec to the internet using wifi?
---
| Yes, with a supported third-party USB wifi adaptor*, but note that wi-Fi or mobile broadband are the most common causes of radio interviews dropping off. To ensure reliability, we strongly advise connecting to a broadband router or IP port using a physical cable. Most wifi routers have ethernet sockets on the back.
* Insecure networks and captive portals (e.g. hotel wifi) not supported. |
